After reading an article from the newspapers.....
"Tamakis, latest Maori showcase about to open."
Known as entreprenuers in NZ, Rotorua brothers - Mike and Doug Tamaki - are about to open their new Christchurch venture. They are expecting, multi million dollor heritage villages, will hire nearly 100 staff and be visited by over 80,000 people in its first year.
They said Rotorua's Tamaki tours and Christchurch are quite different. "Rotorua is pre European and Christchurch is after their arrival." The heritage village in Christchurch has 90 minutes walk down the memory tram and train rides.
- Future forms
- Rotorua brothers are about to open .... As a form of 'be about to~', it indicates their intentions for the future. It would happen in the near future.
- Will hire nearly 100 staff .... It means their willingness or intention.
- will be visited by over 80,000 .... As a future passive infinitive form, the agent(the visitor) is not clear and unimportant.
- Past simple
- They said .... It refers to their past statements that has already finished .
- Present simple
- Tamaki tours and Christchurch are quite different .... It shows the fact that people usually believe.
- The heritage village in Christchurch has 90 minutes walk down the memory tram .... It shows the present fact.
